“Until all of us have made it, none of us have made it.” – Rosemary Brown, politician, activist, and Canada’s first black female member of a provincial legislature
Starting at the beginning of Black History Month, we reached out to our students and mentors asking them to share their recommendations, which celebrate the achievements of the Black Community’s enormous contributions, culture, and impact on Canada and beyond.
From these submissions, we curated a catalogue of recommended readings, movies, art and other inspirations. While this catalogue was initiated during Black History Month, we recognize that we should always continue to learn and listen. This evolving resource is part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and our continued desire to educate ourselves about the significant impact of the Black community.
