“Education is what got us here, and education is what will get us out.” – Justice Murray Sinclair
At the start of Indigenous History Month, and following the heartbreaking discovery of the remains of 215 children on the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential school, we reached out to our Beedie Luminaries community for submissions to catalogue educational resources.
These resources are meant to help us all honour, celebrate, and learn from the histories, cultures, and experiences of the Indigenous Peoples on Turtle Island. Please educate yourself by reading books by Indigenous authors, watch movies by Indigenous producers, and consider donating to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.
