Why did you decide to become a mentor with Beedie Luminaries?
I am always searching for new opportunities to mentor youth while they are still in high school or prior to their post-secondary graduation. As a former teacher, I know the everlasting impact the Beedie Luminaries program will have on these students. Life altering potential.
What was the best advice you were ever given by your mentor?
That is an easy one as it has stuck for decades, and it applies to personal as well as my professional life: “Always provide a suggested solution when voicing a concern or problem with others.”
What would you tell your 18 year-old self now?
“Believe in your unique thinking. Avoid being sucked into mainstream expectations of what a career path should look like. And always be adding new skills and experiences to the personal toolkit.”
