Arman Moztarzadeh is a Computer Science student at UBC with a passion for working with computers and helping others. Guided by the mantra, “A life spent helping others is a life filled with purpose,” he strives to make a positive impact. Inspired by his parents’ hard work and driven by personal growth, he values kindness and support within the Beedie Luminaries community.
What is your field of study and why does it interest you?
Computer Science, I enjoy working with computers!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
To trust your instincts and to not be afraid of trying.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
A life spent helping others is a life filled with purpose.
What was the last experience that made you a better person?
I learned to not hold any grudges.
What is something you learned in the last week?
How to bake a pie (never baked anything in my life before).
What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
How a lot of youth are taking action and making significant differences in the world.
Who inspires you and why?
Not anyone in particular, but I do take some inspiration from my parents and what they’ve worked for.
What would people be surprised to find out about you?
I’ve played soccer since I was 6, and I can play the piano and guitar.
What is your favourite thing about being a part of Beedie Luminaries?
Great group of people, everyone is kind and supportive.
