“We are all little peppers dancing and trying our best on this magnificent Earth.” Meet Beedie Luminary Resina Kim
What is your field of study and why does it interest you?
I am in the Faculty of Sciences interested in majoring in Behavioural Neuroscience! Reason for this is because it’s a field that enables us to use the physiological knowledge about the mind and body to connect it to behaviors and how that plays a part in society and everyday life.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“We are all little peppers dancing and trying our best on this magnificent Earth. As cheesy as it is, you only live once. Make the most meaningful relationships and experiences, ground yourself, and be friendly to your heart!” – Me.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Take a peek in my perspective.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
Why the heck not?
What was the last experience that made you a better person?
Enabling a friend of mine to feel safe and comfortable enough to share a story of theirs that had never left the walls of her mind.
What is something you learned in the last week?
That I genuinely dislike red meat which I genuinely didn’t know because I am the least picky eater ever.
What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
How fast trends catch on.
Who inspires you and why?
Chris. A now 60 year old family friend who blinds himself from societal timelines and expectations and really is a walking living person of the quote “YOLO, FOLLOW YOUR PASSION”. He is such a genuine, kind, deep thinker and loving easy going human who has done so much in life and in terms of exploring various careers, architecture,
had goats, chickens, in backyard, built a gas station and his own house, did real estate, and the list goes on. The main thing is that anytime he wanted to do something no matter how crazy, there was no kick in the face reality check that would prevent him from trying. We sometimes build our own barriers just with our own limiting beliefs. Super inspiring guy!
What would people be surprised to find out about you?
My ability to analyze and really understand people and their lives in ways to be able to help them.
What is your favourite thing about being a part of Beedie Luminaries?
The bright growth-minded community that shows endless support and love!
