Beedie Luminaries announces recipients are three Shuswap Grade 12s from Salmon Arm, Blind Bay and Celista.
Three Grade 12 students from Salmon Arm Secondary have been awarded a scholarship of up to $44,000 each.
Ryan Beedie, through his Beedie Luminaries foundation, is awarding $6.9 million in scholarships this year. The three Shuswap students are: Summer Pakula from Salmon Arm who will be attending Thompson Rivers University (TRU); Mackenzie Packer from Blind Bay who will be going to Okanagan College and Jamie Bentley from Celista who is also off to TRU.
“These scholarships recognize promising B.C. students who have faced life challenges and adversity with determination and resilience. For many of these students, this scholarship means the difference between being able to attend post-secondary or not,” reads a media release from the foundation.
