What is your field of study and what attracted you towards this profession?
I am currently taking Social Work at Douglas College; I was attracted to this profession because I had already been working within the social services sector for about 12 years. I wanted to continue to give back to the community by working with at risk youth.
Raising children while attending a university or college is a unique challenge and it can be extremely difficult to manage and prioritize your time. What are some things you like to do to maintain good mental health and wellbeing?
I love to go 4x4ing with my truck and get out camping. You like the outdoors but he loves driving.
What piece of advice would you give to other parents out there who are considering going back to school?
I always doubted myself and thought I wouldn’t succeed. However, I found my opportunity and my place. Trust yourself and fill out the application, just do it!
