TAHIRA SYED

Tahira is a dedicated advocate for student success with over 14 years of experience in post-secondary education. Driven by a passion to remove barriers for students, she has been a steadfast leader in developing financial support programs that empower learners to access and thrive in their educational journeys. With a unique background rooted in trades and business administration, Tahira brings a hands-on perspective to her work, understanding the diverse pathways students take to achieve their goals.

Throughout her career, she has championed financial support programs, addressed systemic hurdles, and collaborated closely with senior leaders to uphold equity and inclusion in student services. Her experience encompasses mentoring emerging business professionals, advocating for safe and inclusive campus environments through her work on the sexual violence prevention team, and creating holistic support systems for Previous Youth in Care students. She has also served as an awards adjudicator for the Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Committee.

In addition to her administrative and leadership roles, Tahira is deeply dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous professional growth, empowering her teams to create respectful, high-performing workplaces that prioritize student success.
