What program will you be taking in post-secondary and why does it interest you?

I will be attending Simon Fraser University. My field of study is Health Science, and the reason to why it interests me is because I plan on becoming a Health Policy Analyst. I aspire to help improve the Canadian health care system especially for people of colour.

Tell us a little bit about your background (growing up, going to school, extra-curricular activities, etc.).

I am a Congolese girl that was born in Kenya but raised in Canada. I speak 3 languages fluently and love to eat.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid I wanted to become a police officer.

What was your senior quote in high school?

My senior quote this year was that “ failure is not an option” – Mr. Cameron

What are you looking forward to in your freshman year?

I am looking forward to meeting new people, and making friends.

Who would you have dinner with if you could have it with any person, living or dead?

If I could have dinner with anyone I would definitely love to eat with Denis Mukwege, my role model.

What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is to take things one step at a time.

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson

What are people surprised to find out about you?

People would be surprised to find out that I do not like cheese.
