MELANIE KOENDERMAN
Melanie is excited to be a part of the RISE selection committee, where she can continue to contribute to educational opportunities for students who are newcomers to Canada.
After working as a Foreign Service Officer with the Government of Canada, drafting international student immigration policy and serving in posts in Asia, India, and Europe, Melanie spent over fifteen years as the founding Dean of Students at two institutions – Quest University Canada – Canada’s first secular, not-for-profit university, and the Schwarzman Scholars Master’s Degree fellowship program at Tsinghua University in Beijing. She currently works with educational institutions and foundations in strategy, design, and coaching to support their missions.
Melanie is a mentor to several Beedie students and looks forward to continuing to support the inspirational work of the Beedie Luminaries program.
