“Take everything as a learning experience.” Meet Beedie Luminary, Lily Chau, SFU Student
What program will you be taking in post-secondary and why does it interest you?
I will be taking commerce and it is interesting to me because there are many opportunities that one can gain from studying this topic.
Tell us a little bit about your background (growing up, going to school, extra-curricular activities, etc.).
Growing up as an only child, I learned to become independent when attending school and my extra-curricular activities. Most of the time I always have to find my own transportation to and from these events.
Who inspires you, and why?
Someone that inspires me is Catherine Magday. She is the woman who made me realize to ask for help in the areas needed. She is an idol in my life and I know that she is always willing to listen and help me in any situation.
What motivates you, and why?
Something that motivates me is being positive and finding happiness in what I do everyday.
What are your goals for the upcoming school year?
My goals for this upcoming school year is to find a balance between school and extra-curricular activities.
What is one thing you learned in high school that you will take with you to post-secondary?
I learned to time manage studying and having free time to hang out with my friends.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to future Luminaries?
A piece of advice I would give to future Luminaries is to not to be afraid to try. There is no fault or punishment for trying. Take everything as a learning experience.Back To Top
