Delta Optimist Repost: Delta students rewarded with Beedie Luminaries scholarships
DELTA OPTIMIST — Eight Deltans are the recipients of major scholarships from the Beedie Luminaries Foundation.
Six Grade 12 students are recipients of a Beedie Luminaries SHINE Scholarship of $44,000 each to apply to their post-secondary studies.
The students are:
Lara Hejazi — Delta Secondary
Arneet Kaur — Delview Secondary
Prabhdeep Panesar — Delview Secondary
Alicia Chan — Burnsview Secondary
Julius (Harnoor) Dhatt — Delview Secondary
Nawda Hamedi — Princess Margaret Secondary.
Another Delta resident Eli Berera is receiving a BUILD scholarship (for those studying the skilled trades), while another Delta resident Amanda Lynn Bostik is receiving a SPARK scholarship (for single parents pursuing post-secondary).
This coming academic year, 310 deserving students across all six scholarships, from 34 municipalities throughout the province will receive awards totaling more than $13 million, a record for the program.
