EDUCATION NEWS–The Class of 2024 has earned $10.8 million in scholarships and counting, smashing recent records. In total, they’ve been offered millions more than any other graduating class in over 5 years.
These awards, large and small, help students to achieve their post-secondary dreams.
Thirteen students from the Class of 2024 were awarded Beedie Luminaries scholarships of up to $44,000 each for their post-secondary studies:
- Zawata Afnaan, Burnaby South Secondary
- Aylin Alizadeh-Ebadi, Burnaby South Secondary
- Yar Biar, Cariboo Hill Secondary
- Elbethel Desta, Burnaby North Secondary
- Maya Holmes, Moscrop Secondary
- Salma Ibrahim Issa, Cariboo Hill Secondary
- Elvin Ng-Young-Lim, Burnaby Mountain Secondary
- Ermira Progri, Burnaby South Secondary
- Sania Shenasa, Cariboo Hill Secondary
- Dia Suleiman, Byrne Creek Community School
- Ethan Sun, Burnaby Central Secondary
- Lulyana Tsehaye, Byrne Creek Community School
- Tina Zeng, Moscrop Secondary
Many students across the District also earned significant athletic scholarships. Congratulations to all scholarship and bursary winners, all graduates, and their families.
