Yué Bizenjima-Chrea is a mother, yoga teacher, children’s book author, yoga teacher, and the Manager of Operations at SFU’s School of Medicine, while also pursuing her PhD in the Educational Theory and Practice program in SFU’s Faculty of Education.
Raised in a Buddhist temple in Japan, Yué carries an orientation shaped by relationality, reverence, and mindful attentiveness to the relationships between people, communities, and the world around us. Her doctoral research explores dōtoku (道徳), holistic moral and ethical education, and contemplative and relational approaches to learning, drawing particularly from Japanese educational and philosophical traditions.
Across her professional, academic, and community work, Yué brings extensive experience in post-secondary administration, finance, community engagement, scholarship adjudication, and student support. At the heart of her work is a commitment to nurturing respect, empathy, reciprocity, and opportunities for young people and communities to flourish.
