Beedie Luminaries Spotlight: Naba Naqvi

Studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC, Beedie Luminary Naba Naqvi finds the intersection of chemistry and biology fascinating. Her life mantra, “Mind over matter,” guides her through every challenge, including embracing the present with the belief that “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift.”

What is your field of study and why does it interest you? 

I am studying Pharmaceutical Sciences because I love to see how beautifully chemistry and biology overlap in our world.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? 

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Middle Child

Driving in the snow.
